British born, Denis Wick spent most of his working adult life as a professional trombonist and conductor, although over the last 30 years his name has become associated with his line of brass mutes and mouthpieces. Built to a high standard, these products are used across the world by players of every calibre.

• Practical - Probably the most commonly used mute, the straight mute is called for frequently by composers and in written music.
  
• Sound - Aluminium makes the sound quite distinctive and gives a buzz to your tone whilst muting the volume. However, should you play very loudly, you can produce a very piercing sound!
• Style - Particularly useful for playing in the background of an ensemble.
