Sheehans Music Services Ltd retains full title to all goods supplied until paid for in full. In the event of the customer's insolvency Sheehan's Music Services Ltd reserves the right to reclaim goods for which full payment has not been made.
All prices are shown including VAT where applicable. The net price of the goods will be shown on the basket page, and on your invoice or receipt. Books and sheet music are zero-rated for VAT in the UK; most other items are rated at 20%.
Where VAT is applicable, it is shown in our website catalogues at UK rates even if you have registered as a non-UK customer. We are required by law to collect VAT at UK rates on orders despatched to countries within the European Union.
We will deliver your goods within a couple of days if in stock, or normally within one week if not. If you need delivery by a certain time please state this on your order and we will let you know if we are unable to accept your order on this basis. If we have not delivered your order within one week please contact us: we will then either arrange another time for delivery or, if we have already debited your credit card, we will offer you a refund.
For details of our carriage arrangements and charges please click here.
With such a large catalogue of items in our database it is inevitable that from time to time there will be errors in pricing caused either by our mistake or by errors in the data sent to us by manufacturers and publishers. If this means that your order would cost more than anticipated we will contact you either by phone or email to give you the option of accepting the goods at the amended price, or to cancel the order if you prefer. If the price increase is small, we may at our discretion decide to absorb the increase ourselves and process the order without notifying you..
If the goods you receive are faulty please return them to us in their original condition within 14 days and we will either repair or replace them, or refund the cost of the goods.
If the goods you receive are not what you ordered, please return them to us in their original condition within 14 days and we will either replace them with the goods you ordered, or refund the cost of the goods and carriage.
In addition to the above, you may in most cases return any goods within 14 days of receipt without giving any reason. However there are a few unavoidable exceptions to this, as follows:
Please call us before returning any goods.
If you choose to return any goods you must ensure that the goods are properly packaged. It is your responsibility to take reasonable care to ensure that they reach us undamaged.
If a refund is due to you it will be made within 7 days.
If your goods are not delivered to you within 14 days of the despatch date you must notify us immediately, otherwise we cannot accept responsibility for the lost goods. You will be notified of the despatch date by e-mail shortly after we have received your order.
Any claim arising from damage in transit must be made to Sheehan's Music Services Ltd within 10 days of receipt of the goods. Please check the cases and contents immediately upon receipt, and before signing for them. Goods seen to be damaged should be signed "Damaged in transit" and packaging materials should be preserved for inspection.
Damaged goods must be reported within 10 days of delivery otherwise Sheehan's Music Services Ltd cannot accept responsibility.
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.
Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.
Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.
Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.
Sheehans of Leicester is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.
For example, if a customer bought a new guitar amplifier from us we would accept their old guitar amplifier and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.
Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol shown below:
Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.
