An upgrade from the Yamaha NP30, the NP31 features Advanced Wave Memory (AWM) stereo sampled voices and graded soft-touch action, all in a 76-key keyboard weighing less than 6kg.
The NP31 features a 76-key, touch-sensitive keyboard, perfect for a beginner pianist. Touch sensitivity enables the player to add expression (loud and soft) to their playing. It also allows you to play melodic lines louder than the accompanying parts.
The NP31 works just as well as a MIDI interface; it features full MIDI compatibility (in and out), so you can connect your new digital piano to your computer to record, edit and share your music. All you'd need to connect the two is a MIDI cable, an audio interface (with MIDI compatibility), and some recording software.
The NP31 features 10 high-quality voices including natural grand piano, electric pianos, organs, harpsichords, vibraphone and strings, so you can play everything from a Bach sonatina to a Hollywood orchestral score! The dual voice feature also allows you to layer two voices together (we particularly love the strings piano combination).
With the brand-new 'Auto Power Off' feature, the NP31 will switch off after a set amount of time (you decide how long) to save power. This feature is brand new to the NP range, and is guaranteed to save you batteries!
With an ultra-slim cabinet (only 25.9cm deep) and at 5.7kg, the NP31 is suitable for carrying about on a regular basis, for gigs and rehearsals. It is also suitable for children to take to school in a carrying case / gigbag.
It features a built-in stereo speaker system (2.5W x 2) to envelop you in sound, however, it also has a headphone socket to practice silently on your own if you prefer. This is particularly helpful for those in a busy household, with sensitive neighbours, or those with a more shy disposition!
