On first glance, the GAE8 can look very similar to the GAE6 but on closer inspection the differences are apparent. The GAE8 features a solid a solid engelmann spruce
top as opposed to the Sitka Spruce used for the GAE6. Engelmann is a lot lighter in colour and offers a lovely warm bass response. It also has a gloss finish with Abalone dot position marks along with an Abalone soundhole inlay. The electrics move up a gear with the LR Baggs LR-T NX system used here. The main difference is that this one features a notch filter and LR Baggs element pick-up. The notch filter is a great tool to eliminate feedback problems, as dialled in it will find the frequency causing the problem and cancel it out.For the gigging or recording musician this offers fantastic value for money!
