Lee Spreadbury is a Professional Pianist; Teacher, Performer, Composer and Session Musician.
Lee has played Piano since the tender age of 8, studying Classical Piano and Music Theory to Grade 8 standard. Since then he has ventured into the world of Contemporary Music, discovering and mastering the many different elements of Jazz, Rock ’n’ Roll, Blues, Soul and Psychedelia.
A respected Musician in the local and surrounding areas, Lee has played in many different bands and with other respected artists worldwide. His current band, GU-RU, a vehicle for his own ambitious compositions, is very active on local scene and has just released its debut album.
Since graduating from University, Lee has taught privately and in Schools and Colleges, teaching masterclasses and leading student's to success in Graded exams. In his lessons, Lee aims to draw on his experiences as both student and professional. He is able to teach Classical, Jazz, Pop, Rock and other contemporary styles and is keen to prepare students for graded exams. He also loves teaching Improvisation, Songwriting/Composition and Music Theory.
Lee's lessons are creative, exciting and most of all, fun. He looks forward to teaching you soon.
Lauren is an accomplished pianist, guitarist and drummer and has been teaching piano for the last 6 years. Out side of Sheehans she teaches at both Leicester Piano Academy and at home.
She plays piano and sings in her current acoustic act, My Medusa, who are based in Leicester. Before moving to Leicester in August 2013, Lauren recieved her BA(hons) degree in popular music studies at Liverpool John Moores University. Having started playing the piano at the age of 6, Lauren has completed all of her grades and is comfortable teaching all ages and abilities.
Her chosen exam board is ABRSM and all students that have been presented for examination under her have passed with merit or above.
Grace has been teaching at the Academy for two and a half years now and has proved very popular with students of all ages. She also teaches aural and music theory in preparation for graded exams and is available as an accompanist for grade exams.
Her chosen exam board is ABRSM but she is happy to use other exam boards too. If pupils would prefer not to take grade exams but work towards learning pieces of a certain genre, Grace is happy to tailor lessons to the individual’s preferences.
She graduated in 2012 from the University of Leeds with BA Hons in Music, and has grade 8 ABRSM in both piano and flute.
Grace regularly organises music events for charity with friends, the most recent concert raising over £600 for the Brain Tumour Research Campaign.
Heather has been teaching piano and oboe for 6 years to pupils of all ages. She also teaches beginner recorder, music theory up to grade 6 and aural skills for exams.
Her chosen exam board is ABRSM, but she’s happy to use Trinity if preferred.
Heather has a BA Hons in Music from Bath Spa University and grade 8 in both piano and oboe, as well as grade 6 music theory. She also has a DipABRSM instrumental teaching qualification.
Heather comes from a very musical family and regularly performs with many orchestras and wind bands. She especially loves playing chamber wind music. Always keen to improve her skills, Heather is currently working towards her grade 8 music theory exam and would love to study music therapy or community music in the future.
Heather is available for lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Academy.
Kate has been teaching at Sheehans since 2014 and is happy to teach any age group. Kate did her professional training in Kent and moved to Leicestershire in 2000 where she set up a successful private teaching business teaching piano, flute and theory. Kate also teaches piano at Ratclliffe College and has had previous experience teaching in primary and secondary schools.
Markos has been teaching piano and brass for 10 years, both privately and in schools in Hertfordshire and Essex, where he also worked for Yamaha Music School. He has recently relocated to Leicester.
The exam boards he uses are ABRSM and Trinity.
He has BMus Hons from Cambridge University, specialising in Musical Theatre and Composition.
Markos has performed with numerous orchestras, wind, and brass bands, and as a tuba soloist with the Adelphi Players. He also formed and ran 'Quintessentials' wind quintet as bassoon player for 4 years. He currently conducts and arranges music for a wind band in St Albans, who do three charity concerts a year. He is available as an piano accompanist for singers and instrumentalists, and especially loves film music, the Romantic period, 20th century orchestral music and musical theatre.
He is available at our Academy on Tuesdays
Richard has been teaching piano for 14 years, both just for the enjoyment of playing and music making, and in preparation for exams.
ABRSM is the exam board he uses, in which he has 100% pass rate, but he's happy to use other exam boards if preferred.
His teaching qualifications are LRSM and CTABSRM, and he also has an Associate Diploma in performance (ALCM).
Richard also teaches music theory up to grade 5 and is available to accompany instrumentalists for exams and other events. He regularly performs with other local musicians, including a mezzo-soprano and a recorder player.
He teaches at our Academy on Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
She has most experience entering pupils for ABRSM exams, but is happy to work towards Trinity/Guildhall.
