Dan graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2007 with a 2:1 in Jazz Studies on saxophone. Since then he has been performing and recording with numerous bands and artists throughout the UK. He also plays bass for well-known covers band The Aesthetic.
Dan has been teaching since 2009 and whilst he specialises in the application of jazz theory, can also teach various different styles including pop, rock, funk, and blues. Dan can teach saxophone using either the ABRSM or Trinity exam board.
Currently Dan can be seen playing saxophone for Motown party band Johnny & the Goodtime Boys, innovative brass band King Brasstards, & the Funk Soul Collective. He also plays bass and keyboards for artists such as George Simpson & Calder McLaughlin.
Sarah has been with the Academy for almost 4 years, and has been teaching flute and saxophone in both group and one to one lessons since 2008.
Her chosen exam board is ABRSM, in which she has a 100% pass rate.
She has BA Music with Instrumental/Vocal Teaching, grade 8 ABRSM in flute and saxophone, and grade 5 ABRSM theory.
Sarah enjoys running workshops and classes, and performs at our Academy concerts twice yearly. She is the owner of The Sacred Voice, and is a BAST qualified Sound & Mantra Therapist.
She teaches at our Academy on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Sue has taught clarinet and saxophone to over 100 pupils, both individually and in small groups in schools, in North Yorkshire and now Leicester. She likes to encourage parents to be actively involved in their childrens' lessons and practice, but also teaches adults independently.
ABRSM is used for classical exams and jazz grades 1 - 5, and Trinity for jazz grades 6 - 8.
She has CTABRSM and a BSc Hons.
Sue plays in the Bardi Orchestra and Bardi Wind, and has recently started running saxophone workshops.
She is available to teach on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at our Academy
