Taylor Acoustic Guitars
Without doubt Taylor Guitars currently lead the way in the design and production of high end acoustic guitars. We consider them to be excellent by design, manufacture and performance.
Designed and built under the close supervision of luthier and company founder Bob Taylor, each one is a perfect example of craftsmanship, a pleasure to listen to and a revelation to play thanks to their super-smooth necks and incredibly comfortable action.
Below is an explanation of the different models, body sizes, tonewoods and other features that make up the Taylor range. All Taylor guitars* are fitted with a mahogany neck, have a 25 1/2" scale length and an ebony fingerboard, and prices include a hard case. Solid tonewoods are used throughout to produce a rich sound that will improve with age - for information of the various tonewoods used, see below.

Cutaways and Pickups - The Taylor Expression System®
All electro-acoustic models have a cutaway, and come fitted with Taylor's own 'Expression System' Pickup. Operating through a network of 3 specially designed sensors (2 mounted on the underside of the soundboard, and one in the neck), the expression system generates an incredibly natural tone when compared with traditional piezo-electric pickups, without suffering from the feedback problems associated with using microphones.
The usual square black control panel has been replaced by three small, discreet knobs located next to the heel of the guitar, for volume, treble and bass adjustments, and the system is powered by 2 x AA size batteries located in a compartment next to the jack socket / endpin. The pre-amp itself was designed by legendary audio inventor and innovator Rupert Neve and gives a warm, balanced tone.
Trying the Expression System for yourself is highly recommended - we guarantee you will be impressed!

Specialist Models
12 Strings
12 string models are available in each series (except the 700 series). Most are built with a jumbo size body, giving plenty of volume and an unmistakable 'big' sound. Most models are also available with a cutaway and Taylor Expression System® pickup*.
Baby Taylors
...are 3/4 size dreadnought size guitars which sound much bigger than they look (The Big Baby is 15/16th size).
They come with a high quality padded gigbag and are ideal either as a travelling companion, or as a quality acoustic for a child. We have fitted pickups to several, and they sound absolutely awesome! Current options are listed below.

Designed to sound like a traditional classical guitar, but play like a steel-strung Taylor, these grand concert size electro-acoustics offer a bridge between the two worlds.
